Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need to bring my pets own food?

Yes. It is always best to keep your pet on their diet and feeding schedule.

  • Can I bring toys and treats?

Yes. One or two toys is fine. Treats are welcome. However we do not permit rawhides, real bones, or anything that is not safe or digestible.

  • Can I bring my dogs bed?

Yes. We do have a Kuranda bed in each run. You may add a small to medium bed or blanket.

  • Will you administer medications for my pet?

Yes. We can administer pills, ointments, eye drops and ear drops for a small fee. Medications must be in original container from vet.

We do not give injections. Keep in mind we will not accept pets that need to be under veterinary care or have a condition that is contagious.

  • Do you have a boarding cancellation policy?

Yes. We just require that you let us know of any changes as soon as you are aware.

  • I have two or more dogs, can they stay together in the same run?

Yes. However they must be from the same household. Certain factors such as size and feeding must be taken into consideration.

  • Is the kennel heated and air conditioned?

Yes. We keep the entire facility very comfortable for our guests. We also have a fresh air purification system as well.

  • Do you except all breeds?

    In most cases, yes.

  • How often is my dog let outside?

Your dog will be let out leash free four times per day to a very large secured area. For your pets safety and health we do not intermix our guests

  • Does my pet have to be spayed or neutered?

    Yes

  • Why does my dog act so thirsty or hungry when he arrives home?

Due to the added excitement of being picked up and the car ride Home. Rest assured your dog gets plenty of water during their stay. We strongly recommend waiting at least 45 minutes before giving food or water after their arrival so they do not eat or drink too quickly.

  • My dog slept a lot after returning home. Is this normal?

Yes. Due to the extra activity and being in different surroundings your dog may sleep more than usual the first day or two.

Frequently Asked Questions - Canine Cough

  • What is canine cough?

Canine cough “bordatella” is a upper respiratory infection that is usually mild and similar to a cold in humans. Your dog may get it if exposed to another dog or areas they may have been.

People tend to associate canine cough with dogs that have been boarded or kenneled. This is not true. They can be exposed anywhere they encounter other dogs. This includes the veterinarians office, daycare, dog parks or even from your neighbors dog.

Bordatella infections are very similar to a chest cold in humans and can be bacterial or viral. Incubation is generally three to ten days which means this is when potential symptoms can arise as well. Most cases are mild.

  • How do I prevent my dog from getting canine cough?

Vaccinating your dog every six months with the Bordatella vaccine will reduce the risk and help reduce severity of symptoms. Since there are different strains the vaccine is only directed at the most common. A strong immune system is the best defense. Young and elderly dogs with weakened immune systems can be more susceptible. Please consult your veterinarian for more information.

Mimi and Jim are amazing! This is the first kennel that I have used with my 3 yr old goldendoodle Hank. They went above and beyond to keep me updated on Hank as this was his first kennel stay. I would highly recommend this kennel. Hank ate very well with this being his first time away from home so that lets me know that he was well taken care of and happy! Even when I picked Hank up he was happy and was his normal hyper self. We are looking forward to his next stay. Mimi and Jim I can not thank you enough for your caring and kindness with Hank and myself.

My dog Major is very anxious and also does not eat well when I am out of town. They took extra time and energy to make sure he ate and was comfortable. He was actually himself when I picked him up! Highly recommend and my ONLY good boarding experience. Very communicative, patient, and professional owners!
